Finally found my “in” at the auto shop.
Last time I was here, I was randomly able to pass along a ridiculous amount of bagels from a store down the road that generously offloaded their inventory to me. At the time, I was praying through a bad day, and this opportunity to make someone else smile simultaneously brightened my own gloomy disposition. God’s pretty neat like that😏.
I knew the car shop’s crew was stoked by this surprise snack but the lasting impact was confirmed with the warm welcome and huge grin I received from the same shift leader today – over a month later (I’ve been going to the same place for over 2 years and believe me, this is new lol). Its the little things, isn’t it?
Moral of this seemingly trivial story…I’m reminded that we can’t change what’s happened, but we CAN change what happens next. Whether we choose to positively or negatively influence our surroundings is on us and in my experience, the former ALWAYS holds the keys to the biggest (or only) win.
