Let me Introduce Myself

“You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will”

Stephen King

I have always been amazed by the emotions that words (like the ones at the top of this page) can evoke. I attribute this appreciation to my mother, who never let our library cards get dusty and tirelessly read aloud, with great animation, the best child literature the early 90’s had to offer. This translated into my love for writing, and learning to channel that art into a connection tool has become one of my greatest joys.

WHY I’M HERE
This blog will serve as white space to capture the rampant highs, lows, and funny moments that reflect chapters of my story and ideally resonate with parts of yours. My hope is that we leave this written exchange with fresh inspiration to take on whatever’s next, and laugh a lot along the way.

WHERE I COME FROM
Born and raised in the Midwest, it wasn’t until a year past my undergrad that I got the courage (rooted in a desperate need for a fresh start and to be part of something bigger than myself) to leave the familiar, raise $16k and join 50 strangers to do missions work overseas. We lived in eleven countries over the course of eleven months. That pivotal year cemented my faith, ignited my passion for people, and exposed my love of storytelling.

Greatly inspired, I returned to Minnesota and threw myself headfirst into nonprofit work. I eventually transitioned to corporate, and most recently began consulting in the change management and learning & development space. While my path is winding it is rich in experience and grounded by a church community I adore, a family I wouldn’t trade for the world, and loyal friends who have been here for all of it <3.

PERSONALITY ASSESSMENTS
Let’s just get this out of the way, because I know you’re probably curious. Shoot, if you resemble some of my friends, you may already have me pegged. If you’re interesting in taking any of them for yourself, I’ve linked and listed them in order of my preference, although I think they all uniquely offer a better understanding of ourselves and others.,
